Lightnings
In the collection, there is a set that portrays the way the first photographic records of lightning thunderstorms between 1885 and 1890 were made. Henrique Morize made his first observation on November 9, 1885, at 8 p.m, from the balcony of the old Observatório Imperial, located at Morro do Castelo, in Rio de Janeiro downtown.
Note: The images of scanned plates have their names formed, initially, by three letters associated to a number to facilitate their location in the digital database and physical archive of the Observatório Nacional library.
